2244, southern Europe has been transformed into a desert wasteland. Northern Europe is now home to a vampire regime that enslaved humanity.

 

30-year-old Marianne, a human who is part of the remaining resistance in the south, finds herself captured, broken and handed over to Ciarán Sovak, the Lord of War, a man who has killed too many of her kind.

 

Marianne has to learn to survive her new reality, surrounded by enemies. Not everything is as it seems and Ciarán has his own agenda.

 

All the while, Marianne tries to claw her way back to her old self, to remember something, a mission that she was meant to fulfil.
